BEVERAGES Image of halo-halo Halo-Halo: In a glass, layer the first 5 ingredients then layer with ice. Pour evaporated milk onto the ice. Top with a scoop of ice cream.
  • 6 tbsp halo-halo mixture, divided into 2 tbsp each
  • 2 tbsp macapuno (preserved shredded young coconut)
  • 2 tbsp kaong (palm nuts)
  • 2 tbsp nata de coco (coconut jelly)
  • 2 tbsp fresh grated cantaloupe
  • Crushed or shaved ice
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • vanilla ice cream (can also use mango)

Directions: Remove the shell from the coconut fruit by first cracking it open and then start using a knife to cut the meat from it. Then take a shredder and shred the coconut meat and then add the meat to your water and sugar mixture.












Image of sago't gulaman Sago't Gulaman: Caramelize the sugar in a saucepan. Then pour in the water. Continue cooking until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool completely. Add some of the cooked arnibal or syrup to the sago to sweeten it. In a glass, put some sago and gulaman. Add enough arnibal to sweeten. Fill with ice.

  • 3 cups of water
  • Boiled sago can be found in Asian grocery stores.
  • Cooked cubed gulaman can be found in Asian grocery stores.
  • Crushed or shaved ice
