Halo-Halo: In a glass, layer the first 5 ingredients then layer with ice. Pour evaporated milk onto the ice. Top with a scoop of ice cream.
Buko Juice: Fresh coconut juice mixed with sugar and shredded coconut meat served over ice in a glass, you can add evaporated milk. Directions: Remove the shell from the coconut fruit by first cracking it open and then start using a knife to cut the meat from it. Then take a shredder and shred the coconut meat and then add the meat to your water and sugar mixture.
Sago't Gulaman: Caramelize the sugar in a saucepan. Then pour in the water. Continue cooking until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool completely. Add some of the cooked arnibal or syrup to the sago to sweeten it. In a glass, put some sago and gulaman. Add enough arnibal to sweeten. Fill with ice.
Melon Juice: Fresh melon juice mixed with sugar and shredded melon meat served over ice in a glass, you can add evaporated milk. Directions: Start peeling and de-seeding the cantalope or choice of melon. Then take a shredder and shred the melon meat and then add the meat to your water and sugar mixture.
- 6 tbsp halo-halo mixture, divided into 2 tbsp each
- 2 tbsp macapuno (preserved shredded young coconut)
- 2 tbsp kaong (palm nuts)
- 2 tbsp nata de coco (coconut jelly)
- 2 tbsp fresh grated cantaloupe
- Crushed or shaved ice
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- vanilla ice cream (can also use mango)
